Sea Watch Resort is raising money for the March of Dimes this spring.
March of Dimes is a long-standing non-profit that has been helping prevent premature births and keep mothers healthy during pregnancy for the past 75 years. According to the March of Dimes, one in every nine babies are born prematurely in the United States. Last year South Carolina had a preterm birthrate of 14.1%. The March of Dimes works to lower these rates through research, education and awareness.

The other morning while I was preparing waffles and omelets for guests, I had a great opportunity to meet a family from Alaska. This was there first time seeing the Atlantic Ocean and our beautiful beaches in South Carolina. We talked about the differences from our areas including the weather for example and they told me lots about Alaska too. They were so excited to be here at Sea Watch and they pointed out several times how lovely my view of the ocean. They were right I am lucky to have such an amazing view everyday and I am glad…

I took my daughter on a trip to Ripley's Aquarium on a rainy day. It was her first time to an aquarium and she was very excited. When we entered the main entrance the staff was very attentive and welcomed us. As we made our way to the first exhibit I was suprised to see that the facility had a childrens play area. I thought this was great as it gives your child a chance to mingle with other children. Our first stop was a tank with a very large fish. Although I am not sure of the fish's name…

For an ultimate night of live entertainment in Myrtle Beach the Legends in Concert is definitely a must see show featuring spectacular singing and dancing with awesome tributes to the world’s greatest icons from country to pop and soul. The artists really capture the look, sound and overall characteristics of the actual stars. The performance I attended had five acts and the most memorable one was of Whitney Houston. I had the pleasure of attending BeatleMania on Friday evening at the Carolina Opry. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed by their staff. We entered the theatre and found 4 very talented performers. It was almost like the original Beatles were right there on stage. While they performed several of the songs that the Beatles were famous for, black and white clips played in the background showing scenes of Beatle fans "screaming" and "crying" over their chance to hear the Beatles perform in concert. They also included clips of Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy walking the…

Tonight I am going to watch the BeatleMania Show being held at the Carolina Opry which is only moments away from Sea Watch Resort ! I am really excited, although I was born EARLY in the 60's my mom of course raised me with oldies on the radio all the time so I enjoy the music very much. I think in a week or so I will go see the Lazer Light Show also being held in the Carolina Opry. I saw the Good Vibrations Show last year which is 60, 70's and 80's music and that was fantastic. Most people that live in Myrtle Beach are from some where else in the United States. I am originally from North Carolina and moved here almost 11 years ago. Like most, I moved here because I fell in love with the area from coming down for vacation with friends and family. Unfortunately, once you move here, you find a job, start working everyday and forget why you moved here in the first place. Then many years later you realize you haven't been to the beach in years as I did. So I made a promise to myself that this year…

Last night we had our very 1st Sunday Sea Watch Karaoke Party!!! It went very well. There were plenty of smiling faces as guests sang their hearts out to their music selection. Some of our guest decided to just sit back and listen to the music and watch the performances, while others were more daring as they took the mike in handle and sang. There were families enjoying the pool while others sat back with their kids and ate ice cream from the Captain's Nook Ice Cream and Coffee Shop. We were offering a special on pizza which was $10.00…

Out of all the fun and exciting things to do in Myrtle Beach for my Birthday I chose to do something out of the ordinary and completely out of my comfort zone. I made a trip to Huffman Helicopter Tours at the North Myrtle beach Air Port. It’s only a few miles away from Sea Watch Resort on 33rd Ave South. I was greeted by Tylar Proveaux the Sales Manager at that location. He explained in detail all the tours and prices and even introduced me to the pilot Riley Troy. Memorial weekend in Myrtle Beach this year was wonderful. There was all sorts of activities going on throughout Myrtle Beach! Of course there was the Atlantic Bike Festival, the Memorial Day Parade, and concerts with special guest's appearences. People were everywhere, walking Ocean Blvd, driving their bikes and cars, swimming at the beach, and enjoying all the festivites. You could see visitors and locals alike enjoying the boadwalk and the new attractions such as WonderWorks and the SkyWheel. Restaurants and stores were busy with visitors dining out and shopping. Zumba seems to be all the new rage in working out and I have to tell you from personal experience….it ROCKS! Zumba is an easy to follow, Latin inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness party that is perfect for everyone. Last night I had to take a drive to see the light show I read about in the articles regarding the new Sky Wheel in Myrtle Beach on Ocean Blvd. I was amazed to see that they were correct. The LIGHT SHOW was fabulous!!! The Sky Wheel could be seen from blocks away and the lights reflected off area buildings. It was definitely worth the drive just to see the array of colorful lights as they changed colors and designs. At one point it even blinked RED, WHITE, and BLUE. Sunday, May 8th, 2011 on Mother's Day. I went to the Myrtle Beach State Park located on the South end of Myrtle Beach. The drive in was absolutely beautiful. The trees lined the road, moss hanging from the tree limbs, and the smell of the flowers drifting through the air. It was only $5.00 per person for an "All Day Pass". The park has several places to have a cook out, play grounds nestled in the trees and covered buildings for parties. They added wooden walk ways for easy access to the beach and of course the pier and store…
