Who's birthday is on February 29th?

Today we had the pleasure of sharing our morning with our monthly guests at the Welcome Reception.  Everyone had a wonderful time.  There was a great breakfast spread that was provided by our great Food and Beverage Department.  It included fresh fruit, muffins, assorted pastries, and of course our magnificent waffles with a choice of toppings.  My favorite is the strawberry and whip cream waffle!  It was a way to share time with our guests to show them that  we appreciated them.  We have many repeat monthly guest each year and it would not be the same without them being here during these winter months.  During the reception we held a drawing for prizes.  One couple won breakfast for 4, another couple won two complimentry full service cleanings, and the last couple won a very nice fruit basket.  We took some beautiful pictures of staff, guests, and of the food.  All the pictures can be viewed at our Facebook page which is facebook/seawatchresort.  Check them out and if you want or need some time away in the winter then give us a call....

For anyone who follows the Biggest Loser show, I am sure the name Hanna Curlee will ring a bell.  She is the Seaon 11 Biggest Loser Runner up.  Hanna and her sister Olivia tried out and was chosen to participate.  Her sister Olivia won season 11 and Hanna was the runner up.  Last night,  Myrtle Beach residents along with a few of us from Sea Watch Resort attended a seminar that was hosted by the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center (GSRMC) for H2U (Health to You) which focuses on helping people get and stay healthy.  Hanna was their guest motivational speaker  and that is what she did.  She motivated me not to give up!  Hanna described how she lost 120 pounds within nine month and what it took to get there.  Towards the end of the night, Hanna sat at our table and spoke with us while autographing pictures for everyone.  We even had the opportunity to take pictures with her. 

Back in 2010 the Biggest Loser was in Myrtle Beach for a One Mile Walk/ 5K Run.   a few of us also particpated in the walk/run.

On December 31st, 2011 We will have the annual Polar Plunge.  Last year was the first time I have ever participated in a Polar Plunge and I must say it was cold but worth it considering it was for a great cause that helps many people each year - The American Cancer Society.  The Polar Plunge is  presented by Wyndham Sea Watch Plantation, Sea Watch Resort, Chick-fil-A, Ultimate California Pizza, Salsarita's, and Krispy Kreme. 

Pre-Registration is Encouraged.  You can register by calling the Wyndham Activities Department at 843-692-2011.

In the Christmas Spirit we decided to enlist our wonderful Sea Watch Facebook Fans to help us re-write a beachy version of the song - The 12 Days of Christmas.  We have received many great suggestions.

Tis the season.....

It is truly amazing how everything transforms at Christmas time.  Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach are no different and there are lots of things to do that are even free of charge too.  I made a goal this year that after living here for 11 years, this year my family was going to try to see and do everything that the Grandstrand has to offer this holiday season. 

So far we have been to the Intracoastal Christmas Regatta that started in Little River and ended in North Myrtle Beach.  We also went to the North Myrtle Beach Christmas parade down Main Street and we went to the Christmas Tree lighting in McClean Park.  Yesterday we were supposed to go to Christmas Towne at the convention center but we had a little one with a cold so we stayed home.  Next weekend we are going to see the Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland at the Pelicans Baseball field.

Myrtle Beach is not only for golf and family summer fun, it is a great place to experience the best holiday magic around!

Sea Watch Resort is excited to announce that we have kicked off a fundraiser and toy drive for Toys for Tots during the Christmas season. Guests of Sea Watch Resort will be offered the ability to contribute $1 or more to Toys for Tots at the time of booking a reservation and at check-in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sea Watch and the Sea Watch resort group will match all donations up to $1,500, making a total contribution of up to $3,000 for the 2011 Christmas season. Sea Watch will also be a toy drop-off location for new, unopened toys that are donated to Toys for Tots.

"Christmas is especially difficult this year with the difficult economic times that we're in. We have over 4,200 children in our area that we are taking care of this year," said Butch Raynes, volunteer for the Murrells Inlet chapter of Toys for Tots. Butch notes "Now that we are taking online requests for the first time, the number of children in need keeps growing. I'm getting many new requests every week, and we're doing everything we can to try to help each child."

Sea Watch is hoping to help Butch reach Toys for Tots goal to reach every child. "We realize that we are fortunate enough to assist those who are in need, and the ownership, management and staff of all of our resorts were resoundingly in favor to help this wonderful cause as much as we can," said Matt Klugman of Sea Watch. "Our resorts generally make an effort to cater specifically to families, so we felt that this was a natural extension of who we are to help as many families as we can during the holiday season. We're excited to give our guests the opportunity to double their donation to this great cause by matching every dollar up to $1,500."

While all guests will be given the opportunity to make a donation at the time of booking and at check-in, all others who are interested in making a donation, however big or small, to the Toys for Tots fundraising drive can call Sea Watch at 888-534-9095 to do so. Sea Watch is also welcoming donations of new, unopened toys at our front desk.
