Choosing Between Oceanfront and Ocean View
As you’re researching where to stay and what type of room to stay in for your next vacation in Myrtle Beach, you’ll likely run across the terms “oceanfront”, “ocean view”, and perhaps even “non-oceanfront”.
These terms can be confusing because you may not know exactly what to expect when you arrive and walk into your room. However, below we will detail what each word means and how to decide if that particular room type fits what you’re looking for in your next vacation.
Oceanfront rooms are rooms that provide clear views of the ocean and are usually the ones closest to the beach. These rooms can be more expensive units because of the views they provide guests. At Sea Watch Resort, the majority of the North Tower features oceanfront units that provide unobstructed views of both the beach and the ocean. This is perfect for those who want a breathtaking view when they step out on their balcony.
Ocean View Rooms
Unlike oceanfront rooms, ocean view rooms do not provide a direct view of the ocean. Instead, ocean view rooms often provide a nice view of the beach but they are generally found on the side of the building. This means that your balcony may be pointed towards another building to the south or north but you still have a view of both the beach and the ocean. This room type is perfect for people who are wanting nice accommodations but don’t want to pay the extra money for an oceanfront room.
If you are looking through various accommodations and find a “non-oceanfront” room, you’ll likely be looking at a room that has no view of the beach or ocean. This could be in a unit that is located in a building not on the strip or a block or two off of the beach. Thankfully, Sea Watch does not have any non-oceanfront rooms as all of our rooms provide a view of both the beach and the ocean.
