Golf Benefits Children in Myrtle Beach
Monday after the Masters, there was a local golf competition. The weather was sunny and warm with no rain in sight. This "Masters" benefit competition which is held every year on the Monday after the "Real" Masters is a local competition held at the Dye Club at Barefoot Landing Resort. This competition was started back in the year 2000 by Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish. The competition features celebrities, pro golfers, and local pro-am golfers. All the proceeds go to local schools to help children with computers, books, school supplies, shoes and clothing.
This year Mike and Mike from ESPN were there broadcasting live with all of the highlights. Some of the featured guests were John Daly and Jim Furyk along with celebs such as Edwin Mc Cain, Alfonso Ribiero and many more.... Trophies were handed out at the end of the day to all the winners. To end the day, Hootie and the Blowfish played at the House of Blues. This is a wonderful benefit that helps so many children.
This is just one of many benefits that take place in our area. Right now all Vacation Myrtle Beach Properties are accepting donations for the Back Pack for Buddies program to help feed local area children in need of some extra food and snacks over the weekend. Please do not hesitate to call our reservations line to make a donation 1800-879-5908 -- any amount will help! You can also add a donation when you book online.
