August Events

Have you planned your end of summer vacation yet? Even though the summer is beginning to wind down, this is still a great time of year to visit the Grand Strand. Below are just some of the fun, family friendly events to expect during the month of August.

2015 Summerfest at Barefoot Landing 

Summerfest, which began on June 1st, will still be going strong all the way until August 29th. These weekly events include live entertainment, kids' karaoke, stilt walkers, face painting, appearances from your favorite super heroes and princesses, fireworks every Monday at 10:15pm, and more. Summerfest has a little bit of something for everyone and is sure to be a hit amongst your family members of all ages.

Music on Main

Enjoy free concerts every Thursday at 7pm during the month of August in North Myrtle Beach. The concerts are held on either 202 Main Street or at the horseshoe on Ocean Boulevard and is a great family friendly event to attend. Only a short drive from Sea Watch Resort, Music on main is something you won't want to miss.

Craftsmen Classic Art & Craft Festival 

The 31st annual Craftsmen's Classic Art and Craft Festival will be taking place July 31st - August 2nd this year at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. The event will showcase the artwork of hundreds of craftsmen and artists from all over the country. For only $8 for adults and $1 for children ages 6-12 (under 6 is free), you can admire handcrafted jewelry, furniture, home goods, and much more. The best part is, you get a free return pass so the admission includes all 3 days of the festival.

Movies Under The Stars

Every Friday night throughout the month of August , The Market Common will host free, family, outdoor movie nights in Valor Park. The movies start at approximately 9pm once the sun goes down. Movies in the August lineup include Up, Finding Nemo, An American Tail, and Beetle Juice.
