Sea Watch Resort is excited to announce that we have kicked off a fundraiser and toy drive for Toys for Tots during the Christmas season. Guests of Sea Watch Resort will be offered the ability to contribute $1 or more to Toys for Tots at the time of booking a reservation and at check-in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sea Watch and the Sea Watch resort group will match all donations up to $1,500, making a total contribution of up to $3,000 for the 2011 Christmas season. Sea Watch will also be a toy drop-off location for new, unopened toys that are donated to Toys for Tots.

"Christmas is especially difficult this year with the difficult economic times that we're in. We have over 4,200 children in our area that we are taking care of this year," said Butch Raynes, volunteer for the Murrells Inlet chapter of Toys for Tots. Butch notes "Now that we are taking online requests for the first time, the number of children in need keeps growing. I'm getting many new requests every week, and we're doing everything we can to try to help each child."

Sea Watch is hoping to help Butch reach Toys for Tots goal to reach every child. "We realize that we are fortunate enough to assist those who are in need, and the ownership, management and staff of all of our resorts were resoundingly in favor to help this wonderful cause as much as we can," said Matt Klugman of Sea Watch. "Our resorts generally make an effort to cater specifically to families, so we felt that this was a natural extension of who we are to help as many families as we can during the holiday season. We're excited to give our guests the opportunity to double their donation to this great cause by matching every dollar up to $1,500."

While all guests will be given the opportunity to make a donation at the time of booking and at check-in, all others who are interested in making a donation, however big or small, to the Toys for Tots fundraising drive can call Sea Watch at 888-534-9095 to do so. Sea Watch is also welcoming donations of new, unopened toys at our front desk.

  I recently took my family to the new 2011 Christmas Show at the Carolina Opry.  We had a fantastic time.  As soon as we entered the Opry, we were greeted by staff and given a play book.  As we walked around the lobby we saw a great gift shop and a concession stand.  Once we decided to find out seats we were led through the theatre by one of their very professional ushers.  The theatre was beautifully decorated.  From the many tall breath-taking christmas trees to the wonderful decorations  throughout the theatre. 

Once the show started, we sat back in our seats enjoying every moment.  The cast members were great!  There was plenty of music, dancing and even comedy.  We saw the Grinch on stage, we watched the cast perform their own rendition of  "12 days of Christmas"  and "twas the night before Christmas" which was simply hilarious!!!   We even watched the very talented tap dancers  "All That" perform several times to the different Christmas music. 

We enjoyed the show so much we didn't want it to end.  We can not wait to see there next show!

  I had the priviledge of attending one of this years newest shows at the Palace theatre in Myrtle Beach.  It was Hooray for Hollywood.  The show was fabulous!  It featured the most famous songs and dances of the last 50 years of movie history re-created live on stage.  It was exciting to watch the action unfold right in front of us as the cast of singers and dancers performed to the greatest songs and movies.   We saw clips from movies such as Singing in the Rain, Grease, Ghost, Titanic, and Footloose.  They also performed  many of our favorite Disney classics.  There were too many songs to mention, however my two favorites were Titanic and Ghost where the  scenes of the movie played in the background.  This show has a variety of music sure to please everyone. 

I am hoping to see the Christmas on Ice show that they are now having.

Recently I took my family to visit the Ripley's Aquarium located at Broaway at the Beach and we had a wonderful time.  When we first arrived we were greeted by  a photographer who offered to take a family portrait.  Our kids were very excited to start their journey through this amazing aquarium.  We really enjoyed seeing the large variety of colorful fish swimming in the beautiful tanks.  Ripley's often changes there main exhibition and this time it was mermaids which we all enjoyed seeing.  The most exciting feature in the aquarium was what I refer to as the glass tunnel.  It has an automatic walkway so you do not even have to take a step on your own!  You are surrounded with sharks and other large fish swimming around you.  Breath taking!!!

They also have a gift shop and a snack shop so if you just want to take a break and get something to eat and drink you do not have to leave.  It was a great experience and I would recommend this to all.  No matter what age I believe you would enjoy your time at the Ripley's Aquarium.  If you are staying through one of the thirteen Vacation Myrtle Beach properties, be sure to check out  the VMB list to see if Ripley's Aquarium is listed.

Hi my name is Rolanda and I work as a Guest Service Representative for Sea Watch Resort.  Recently I was able to experience  a wonderful dinner at Travinia Italian Restaurant located at the Market Common in Myrtle Beach.  As I arrived, I noticed that they had a great Jazz band playing. It was my first time being there so I did not know what to order.  Our waitress guided me in the right direction.  She asked me what I normally enjoyed eating.  I told her I love Chicken Alfredo.  So that is what she suggested I try at Travinia's.  It was delicious and the house salad was much more then I expected.  Our waitress defintely steered me in the right direction.
